INTRODUCTION:

Kachnar bark, derived from the tree Bauhinia variegata, is a well-known remedy in Ayurvedic and Unani medicine. This medium-sized tree, native to India, Southeast Asia, and China, is admired for its beautiful pink and white orchid-like flowers.

  • English: Mountain Ebony, Butterfly Ash, Camel’s foot tree, Orchid Tree.
  • Hindi: Kachnar.
  • Bengali: Kachnar.
  • Kannada: Basavanpada.
  • Malayalam: Koral, Kanchan.
  • Manipuri: Chingtharo.
  • Urdu: Kachnal.

HOW TO USE:

Kachnar bark: 5–10 grams
Water: 200 ml
Method:
Boil the bark in water.
Reduce to one-fourth (approx. 50 ml).
Strain and consume lukewarm.
Dosage:
1–2 times a day, on an empty stomach or after meals.
Powder (Churna)
Dosage:
1–3 grams with lukewarm water or honey.
Twice daily after meals.
Can be combined with Triphala or Guggulu for enhanced detoxification.
Kanchanar Guggulu Tablets
Useful for thyroid imbalance, PCOS, tumors, weight loss, etc.
Dosage:
1–2 tablets (250–500 mg)
2–3 times a day after meals with lukewarm water or decoction.
Precautions:
Not recommended during pregnancy.
Caution advised for breastfeeding women.
