LEECHES DRY BENEFITS,SIDE EFFECTS AND THEIR USES

INTRODUCTION:

Dried Leeches are leeches that have been dehydrated, primarily for use in traditional Chinese medicine to treat conditions like stroke, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases, as well as for preparing health teas. They are also used as fishing bait, where they are rehydrated in water to release their natural hormones and attract fish. In a different context, the term “dry leeches” can refer to leeches that have survived dry weather by burrowing into the soil, entering a contracted, rigid, and completely dry state.

English: leeches – dry
Arabic: علقة – جاف
Hindi: जोंक – सूखा
Turkish: sülük – kuru
Urdu: جونک – خشک
Japanese: ヒル – 乾いた
Korean:
거머리 – 마른
Latin: hirudo – siccus
Persian (Farsi):
زالو – خشک

Inflammation:

Redness and swelling at and around the bite sites are also common and typically subside within a few days.

Drowsiness:

Some individuals may experience pleasant drowsiness due to natural analgesic and bioactive substances secreted by the leech.

Allergic Reactions:

Allergic reactions can occur, particularly with repeated use of the same leech or with self-treatment.

Scarring:

In aesthetically sensitive or thin-skinned areas, scarring can occasionally occur at the bite sites, though many leech wounds heal without scars.
