Allergic reactions:

Individuals with sensitive skin may experience redness, itching, and mild burning sensations. Always perform a patch test on a small area of skin before full application.

Skin dryness:

Overusing red sandalwood powder, particularly for those with dry skin, can strip the skin of its natural oils. To prevent this, use red sandalwood moderately (2–3 times a week) and mix it with moisturizing agents like milk, honey, or rose water.

Temporary skin discoloration:

When applied as a paste, the red heartwood powder can leave a temporary reddish tint on the skin.

Increased sun sensitivity:

Some ingredients commonly mixed with red sandalwood powder, like lemon juice, can increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun. Always use sunscreen after applying these remedies.

Acne breakouts:

While often used to treat acne, mixing the powder with heavy or oily ingredients may clog pores and worsen breakouts.
